Gregg Williams pulls out of consideration for Titans job
Faster than Gregg Williams became a candidate to replace Jeff Fisher as the coach of the Tennessee Titans, he was removed from the list of those being considered.
Williams pulled his name out of consideration on Wednesday. He did so quickly after it was announced he would interview for the job.
"Yes, I withdrew,” Williams said according to the Twitter account of Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. “The timing is just not right. I love the organization, I love the city of Nashville.”
The Titans will interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. They are also considering in-house candidates.
