Gregg Williams pulls out of consideration in Denver
New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has elected to withdraw his name for consideration for the Denver Broncos’ head-coaching position.
Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that Williams made the decision to inform the Broncos he is not interested in the job. The Broncos had sought and received permission to meet with Williams after the Saints were upset in Saturday’s wild-card round loss at Seattle.
Per Duncan, Williams, a former head coach with the Buffalo Bills, reached the decision after meeting with coaches and players. Surely, he had some personal reasons for pulling out of the process too.
Next up for the Broncos in the interview process are Rick Dennison and Dirk Koetter.
