Grimm reunion going on in Arizona

It will be a family affair on Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Not many NFL coaches can say they have gone through this experience. Russ Grimm, the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for the Cardinals, is preparing a game plan against his son, Cody, a safety for the Buccaneers. Adding to the mix is the fact that Chad, another one of Grimm’s sons, is an assistant for the Cardinals.

“It's going to be a little bit different," Russ said, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, "but he knows the rules, once you put on a different color jersey, the game is the game, so we will see what happens."

Cody Grimm was a seventh-round pick by the Buccaneers from Virginia Tech. He was projected as a special teams player and became a starter by Week 3.

The family hasn’t been together since Grimm was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in August. Grimm hasn’t seen his son play in a game live since the beginning of Virginia Tech’s 2009 season.

Now, the family will have a special opportunity on Sunday.
