Groin injury a nag for Louis Delmas, Lions
The story no one wants to talk about in Detroit simply will not go away.
The lingering groin issue that talented second-year safety Louis Delmas is dealing with is hanging over the future of his season just as it is the future of the team’s defense.
“I guess it's just something I am going to have to deal with," Delmas said, according to the Detroit News.
Delmas reportedly had a very good practice on Wednesday but that simply led to him having to take Thursday off. The team knows Delmas needs to get to the point where he can put consecutive days of good, solid work together.
“I felt all right today, but not as good as yesterday," Delmas said. "With groin injuries, the best healing process is to give it rest a couple of days on and a couple of days off. That's the best treatment. A groin injury is never going to heal if you keep aggravating it."
The Lions are trying to proceed cautiously with him but at this point it’s very fair to wonder how much time Delmas will wind up missing during the season. The defense, in particular the secondary, remain primary concerns for this team.
