Gronkowski doesn't make trip, Amendola a possibility for Sunday

The good news for the New England Patriots is wide receiver Danny Amendola was regarded as close enough to playing that he traveled with the team for a Sunday game against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN.

The bad news for the Patriots: tight end Rob Gronkowski didn't make the trip and won't play.

Amendola is coming off a groin injury that has sidelined him for three games. He had 10 receptions for 104 yards to start the season.

Gronkowski is recovering from forearm and back surgeries during the offseason and hasn't played this season.

Julian Edelman leads the Patriots with 34 receptions for 319 yards.
