Hakeem Nicks has minor knee injury
From the sounds of things the already banged-up New York Giants avoided another big blow with wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
The standout suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins but Zach Berman of the Newark Star-Ledger reports it is a “bone bruise at worst” according to a source. That’s a good thing for New York, which has already dealt with more than its share of injuries, particularly on defense.
Nicks had X-rays that came back negative and Giants coach Tom Coughlin acknowledged there was some issue with Nicks. He was dealing with swelling in the knee on Monday. With any luck, and the Giants could sure use it, he’ll be doing better when practice resumes Wednesday.
