Hakeem Nicks to have hamstring checked out today
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will undergo an MRI and possibly get X-rays of his injured right hamstring today.
Nicks told reporters he strained the hamstring late in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ come-from-behind 20-17 victory over the winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
“It felt like a cramp that didn't go anywhere in one spot in my hamstring,” Nicks said, according to ESPN New York. “But we'll see how it feels in the morning.”
As inconsistent as the running game has been for the Giants this season, New York can ill-afford to be without Nicks for long if he is forced to sit out. He has 38 receptions for 575 yards and three touchdowns. Nicks was slowed by a knee injury after the season opener at Washington, but did not miss any game action.
