Harrison gets one-game ban
The NFL has suspended Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison for one game for his hit last Thursday night on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy.
The helmet-to-helmet hit by Harrison drew a 15-yard penalty and also created quite a stir regarding the Browns, who have come under fire for sending McCoy back into the game with concussion-like symptoms.
But for Harrison, it is the fifth time he has been punished by the league for an illegal hit, with the previous four instances resulting in fines only.
Harrison is the second high-profile defensive player in the past three weeks to be suspended by the league. Detroit's Ndamakong Suh just served a two-game ban for stomping on a lineman's arm in the Thanksgiving Day game against Green Bay.
