Hasselbeck could be on target to start
Matt Hasselbeck said he was able to do more than he expected he could on Thursday with his injured left calf.
That has Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak believing that if the veteran continues to progress that he could make his scheduled start Sunday in Indianapolis.
“It all depends on how he feels under center and backing up and all those things. We'll probably get a better feel for that tomorrow,” Munchak told TitanInsider.com. “We're assuming he's going to start right now.”
Munchak admitted that Hasselbeck, who was limited on Thursday, will have to make the same type of improvement in the calf from Thursday to Friday as he had from Wednesday to Thursday.
“It feels pretty good. I don't know percentage-wise, but we set out a schedule after we got my scan on Monday, to not do anything Wednesday, and not do anything Thursday or do some individual,” Hasselbeck said. “I did a lot more than I expected today. We'll just see how it is tomorrow, and if I can help us for Sunday, great.”
If Hasselbeck can't go, then rookie Jake Locker, who got most of the reps on Thursday, will make his first NFL start.
