Irsay: Luck not a shoo-in to be top pick
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said it is not a foregone conclusion that Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck will be the first overall pick next month.
"It's up in the air,'' Irsay told USA Today's Jim Corbett. "We have to look at this thing completely open-minded.
"You have two outstanding athletes, two great pure passers, two guys from families that are incredible.''
The Colts choice is between Luck and Baylor's Robert Griffin III.
Still, conventional wisdom says Luck is expected to go first overall since he played in a pro style offense in college.
Griffin, who probably possesses more natural athletic ability at the position, is likely to be the second pick overall after the Washington Redskins traded with St. Louis to move into that spot in the draft.
Still, the Colts aren't tipping their hand yet, and that is probably the smart thing to do to keep all their options open.
