Jaguars activate Ebert, Burley, cut McClendon, McCoy
The Jacksonville Jaguars promoted wide receiver Jeremy Ebert and cornerback Marcus Burley off the practice squad to the active roster.
The Jaguars released offensive guard Jacques McClendon and defensive end Chris McCoy were waived.
Ebert spent the preseason with the Jaguars where he had five catches for 46 yards and one touchdown. He was a seventh-round draft pick of New England in 2012 and spent time on the Patriots’ practice squad. He played in 49 games with 32 starts at Northwestern where he finished with 173 career receptions for 2,400 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Burley was signed as an undrafted rookie by the Jaguars this year and spent the entire preseason with the club. He was a four-year letterman at Delaware where he started 33 games and totaled 169 tackles, four interceptions and 18 passes defensed.
