Jaguars fans showing up in droves for minicamp

For a while now, Jaguars fans have had a reputation for failing to show up for games.

Then again, the team was miserable and there wasn't much of a reason to. But with Gus Bradley entering year two at the helm, there's some excitement building in Jacksonville.

With the team's rookie minicamp open to the public, fans have been coming out in big numbers to catch practices -- most likely trying to get a glimpse of third-overall pick Blake Bortles.

On Friday, the organization reported that over 2,000 people showed up for the rookie minicamp session. On Saturday, a franchise record was set with 6,214 people stopping by the team's practice facility.

“This far outpaced in terms of a one-day showing what we thought we were going to do,” Jaguars senior vice president of fan engagement Hussain Naqi said, via the team's website.

That's a great sign for an organization looking to rebuild it's image from being a bottom-feeder to competitive.
