Jaguars get down to 57 players

The Jacksonville Jaguars are down to 57 players after cutting veteran center Mike Brewster and executing 18 other roster moves.

The Jaguars placed wide receiver Tandon Doss (ankle) and rookie cornerback Rashaad Reynolds (hand) on injured reserve.

The Jaguars cut veterans Drew Nowak, Gerald Rivers, Ricky Stanzi, Chad Bumphis and Eric Kettani.and waived-injured Brandon Barden (groin).

Nine rookies were waived: Cody Booth, DeAndre Coleman, Ricky Havili-Heimuli, Craig Loston, Stephen Morris, Kasey Redfern, Tyler Shatley, D.J. Tialavea and Marcus Whitfield.

“Competition is our central theme and all of these players competed on a daily basis,” Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said. “This is always a tough day because you are letting go of men that played a vital role in what we are building here. We will continue to compete to build the best roster possible as we head into the regular season.”

The Jaguars reached an injury settlement with defensive end David Carter.
