Jaguars place franchise tag on Scobee

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that they have placed the franchise tag on kicker Josh Scobee.

The kicker will make approximately $2.7 million as the Jaguars franchise player at his position. Scobee's franchising continues a run on kickers being tagged around the NFL. Cleveland's Phil Dawson and Cincinnati's Mike Nugent were both given the franchise tag on Friday.

In 2011, Scobee hit a career-high 92.0 percent of his field goals (23 of 25), the second-highest percentage in Jaguars' history, and his career-best by making his first 15 field goal attempts to start the season, equaling the third-best streak in team history.
