Jaguars re-sign Will Blackmon to two-year deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed veteran cornerback Will Blackmon to a two-year contract.

Blackmon was signed by the Jaguars last August after not playing in the NFL in 2012. He played in a career-high 15 games for the Jaguars last season with eight starts and produced the highest totals of his career.

He finished with 40 tackles, 10 pass deflections , three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. Blackmon put away a win over the Tennessee Titans with a sack-forced fumble-fumble recovery of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown.

The former Boston College standout was originally a fourth-round draft pick of Green Bay in 2006 where he spent four seasons. He spent two seasons with the New York Giants where he was a member of the Super Bowl champions in 2011.

His career totals include 64 tackles (51 solo), four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and 11 passes defensed. He has registered 21 career special teams tackles.
