Jaguars seek permission to speak to Mularkey

The Jacksonville Jaguars coaching search has begun with the team reportedly seeking permission to interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Mularkey, who was once head coach of the Buffalo Bills, is readying for the Falcons playoff game against the New York Giants.

Fred Taylor last week said he wanted the Jaguars to hire formre Titans head coach Jeff Fisher, though Fisher wants a situation where there is stability at the quarterback position and to have the ability to have some say-so in personnel decisions as well.

Keep an eye on Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, brother of Jon, as a potential candidate as well. The Bengals are also in the wild-card round of the playoffs, and the Jaguars are said to like the way Gruden has helped bring along rookie QB Andy Dalton.

Interim coach Mel Tucker also remains a possibility.
