Jaguars want to sign Cecil Shorts to long-term deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars would like to sign wide receiver Cecil Shorts to a long-term deal.

Shorts caught 66 passes for 777 yards last season.

The Jaguars also drafted wide receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson.

Shorts is in the Jaguars' current and future plans, though.

“We’ve had some general discussions with his representation,” general manager Dave Caldwell told reporters. “Obviously, we want him here for the long haul. He’s a valuable part of our organization, and we’d love to, at some point in time, take care of Cecil.”
