Jaguars won't trade Jones-Drew
During one of the many twists and turns of Maurice Jones-Drew's prolonged holdout from the Jacksonville Jaguars, there was speculation and hints that the running back might be open to a trade.
However, Jaguars general manager Gene Smith crushed that thought at the team's kickoff luncheon on Wednesday, says the Florida Times-Union.
"Maurice is a Jaguar,'' Smith said when asked at the kickoff luncheon.
Even though Jones-Drew may not be around for the opener due to his holdout, it's still better than last year when the Jaguars suprisingly released starting quarterback David Garrard on the day of the kickoff luncheon.
