James Andrews will check out Brett Favre's ankle next week
Brett Favre plans to visit Dr. James Andrews next week, the surgeon who worked on his repaired ankle, and that could be a hurdle to clear for the quarterback to return to the Minnesota Vikings some time later this month.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Favre said Wednesday that he has not decided to retire and that the money – the Vikings have sweetened the deal for him to earn as much as $20 million this season, will not impact him.
Favre denied text messaging teammates on Monday night to tell them that he would not return. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said he received one.
“That's Shank," Favre said. "That's why I love him."
Favre threw the ball this morning at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Miss., but didn’t run on the ankle. Maybe he’s waiting to see Andrews to have it fully checked out.
