Janikowski charged with battery, false imprisonment

Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski made the news by connecting on a record-tying 63-yard field goal against the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

On Friday, Janikowski was back in the news, but it wasn't for kicking field goals. According to InsideBayArea.com, Janikowski has been charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment over an alleged incident with a woman from September 2010.

According to the court document, Janikowski "did unlawfully violate (her) personal liberty" and "did willfully and unlawfully use force and violence upon (her) person" in Walnut Creek on Sept. 24, 2010."

Janikowski had several issues early in his Raiders career and at Florida State, but has not been in trouble with the law since 2003.

The Raiders had already left on Friday for Buffalo and could not be reached for comment.
