Jeff Faine believes Raheem Morris will be head coach again

Jeff Faine understands why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut him loose in March.

The veteran center, who remains on the street, called it the “right decision,” in an interview on 1010 AM WQYK, according to JoeBucsFan.com. Faine said some other interesting stuff in the interview, including sharing his opinion that ousted Bucs coach Raheem Morris will be a head coach in the NFL again one day.

Coach Morris will be a head coach again,” Faine said. “But he’s gotta be a head coach of a very veteran team that can handle the style that he brings.”

Morris initially had success with a young team but then the Bucs spun out of control under him. Faine said new leadership under new coach Greg Schiano was “desperately needed” and added that he hopes to play a few more years. The 31-year-old will have to hook on somewhere.

“I can understand the decision (to release me),” Faine said. “They made an investment in Carl Nicks. Looking into the future and trying to build through youth, and I think it was the right decision. I’m going to be playing for two, three more years, and they’re looking to build something to last.”
