Jeff Garcia's name a possibility for Eagles
The word now is the Philadelphia Eagles are still in the market to peddle a quarterback, namely Michael Vick.
After dealing Donovan McNabb to clear the path for Kevin Kolb, the team would like to find a taker for Vick because the Eagles don’t believe he is the ideal backup to Kolb, someone they want to rely on longterm in the event of an emergency.
Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News throws out the name of veteran Jeff Garcia as a possibility. Garcia sat out last season after requesting his release from the Oakland Raiders, and his name has already been mentioned in Philadelphia as a possibility. He’s played well there before in the past.
Bowen calls Kolb an ideal fit if Vick is traded. Why not bring Garcia in any way? The Eagles are going to roll with three quarterbacks and there would be nothing wrong with adding Garcia to the mix as is. Philadelphia could desire to draft another quarterback, but with the need to bring Kolb along, does that make sense?
