Jeremy Maclin doesn't practice Thursday

For all the good things Jeremy Maclin has done this preseason, injuries have hampered him from being able to fully prepare for the upcoming regular season.

The most recent injury was a hamstring tweak sustained on Wednesday during a joint practice with the New England Patriots, in which Maclin was reportedly beating cornerback Darrelle Revis quite a bit.

With the injury, Maclin did not participate in Thursday's session, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. As a result, it's unlikely Maclin plays in Friday's preseason game against New England.

Resting Maclin is the obvious choice as Chip Kelly and the Eagles will want him at 100 percent for the season-opener. However, there could be some concern about Philadelphia's top receiving threat. He's coming off an ACL tear and dealt with knee soreness earlier this preseason. Now this.

Maclin needs to somehow balance getting the necessary reps with the caution of preventing further injury. All signs point to a big year from Maclin if he's relatively injury free.
