Jeremy Maclin recovering from 'mono-like' illness

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin became sick shortly after the season ended and lost 15 pounds with a “mono-like” illness.

Tim McManus of Philadelphia Sports Daily reports that Maclin, who is working out with teammates in New Jersey during the lockout, has gained about half of the weight back. Maclin fell ill in mid-February and dealt with symptoms through all of March.

“It was off and on,” Maclin said. “I went for a week where I felt good, and then all of a sudden the feeling would be back.”

Maclin, a first-round draft pick in 2009 from Missouri, emerged in his second season. He made 70 receptions last season for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Eagles list Maclin at 6-foot, 198 pounds.
