Jermichael Finley shouldn’t be difficult to pay for the Green Bay Packers.

The versatile tight end has been one of the top targets for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and in the final year of his rookie contract, Finley has proven to be the kind of player general manager Ted Thompson will invest in.

Heck, Finley will make it easy for Thompson. He’ll gladly play under the franchise tag in 2012.

“If they do that, I’m down with that,” Finley said, according to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I ain’t going to be (ticked) off. I just love the game, and I was just blessed to be making money. I’m just taking it all in.”

If that wasn’t enough over-the-top love for Green Bay, Finley continued.

“I want to stay here, no doubt,” he said. “This is a town, this is a team, (an) organization, you couldn’t ask for more. If they came to a conclusion (on a contract), I would look into it. I want to be a Packer for life, for sure. Hands down, I think this is the best organization for me.

“You can’t ask for a better city just because there’s nothing to do, for one thing. I’m going to be real with you, there’s less trouble you can get into. It’s first class in everything they do — contracts, around the building — everything’s first class. I love it. Hands down, I wouldn’t even debate with anyone about it.”

The Packers have already done new contracts for guard Josh Sitton and wide receiver Jordy Nelson. Finley could be next, or perhaps the Packers would like to wait until after the season.

“I’m looking at it like a business decision,” Finley said. “They hit on the other guys, and I guess they’re just going to come to me last because I guess they know my personality.”
