Jermichael Finley 'looked over' Mark Chmura's 'little accident'

Someone call a mediator. One is needed in Green Bay.

That is because Packers tight end Jermichael Finley is currently engaged in somewhat of a war of words with ex-Packers tight end Mark Chmura.

According to Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, it all got started during the team’s Family Night scrimmage when during a televised interview Finley loudly made a few references to the Super Bowl, a game the team would like to wind up playing in at the end of the season.

Incensed, Chmura took to the airwaves on his radio show in Milwaukee the next day and teed off on Finley. Shut your trap was the message he delivered. Why Chmura was so fired up, no one knows.

“He is a great player, but he is a moron,” Chmura said, per Vandermause. “First thing I’d do, I’d say, ‘Shut your mouth. Shut up. Shut up. You’re dumb.’”

When that got back to Finley, well, you can imagine it didn’t go so well.

“Obviously he’s got some hate for me and I don’t know why,” Finley told Vandermause. “I ain’t done nothing to him. I think I’m a good guy. I thought he was. I looked over his little accident he had so what can get worse than that?”

The “little accident,” of course, is a reference to the hot tub party and the high school girls and the trial Chmura, a married man, faced a decade ago. “I don’t think it’s fair that he can (criticize me), because I’ve matured over the past two years,” Finley said. “Coming into my third year I’m trying to do bigger and better things and I don’t need no one bringing me down, talking crap or whatnot. I haven’t been in jail. I haven’t been caught with drugs, none of that crazy stuff, so what can you say about me? I think I’ve got a clear slate.

“Hopefully I get his records and he can talk some more.”

There you have it. We're pretty certain Finley can elevate this war of words to places that Chmura surely does not want it to go.
