Jerome Harrison shows up for OTA's in Cleveland
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Harrison has decided to volunteer for the voluntary portion of the offseason workout program even though the restricted free agent has yet to sign his one-year tender offer.
Harrison showed up for OTA’s this week although he was not present at the workout this morning, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Today’s absence was not related to Harrison wanting to see the love, in the form of a contract extension from the team, according to the report. It is believed Harrison passed on OTA’s last week because of his status as an RFA.
"I think it's good for everyone to be here because it's the second round of install and it helps the player and it helps us for when we go to camp,'' coach Eric Mangini said. "I'm glad Jerome is here and I expect him to be here next week.''
Harrison will have competition for the job as the Browns selected Tennessee’s Montario Hardesty in the second round. They also picked up Peyton Hillis in the Brady Quinn trade.
