Jerome Simpson appealing three-game suspension

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson is facing a potential three-game suspension.

The suspension stems from his drunken driving arrest last year.

Simpson is in New York appealing the suspension.

Simpson pleaded guilty to careless driving and refusing to submit to a chemical test. He has completed community service requirements. Simpson is being treated as a repeat offender of the NFL substance abuse policy.

Simpson served a three-game suspension two years ago for mailing two pounds of marijuana and serving 15 days in jail and being placed on three years of probation.

Last year, Simpson caught 48 passes for 726 yards and a touchdown.
