Jerome Simpson says not dressing Sunday cost him $60,000

Jerome Simpson is upset he was not in uniform for Sunday’s game at Washington because it cost him money.

Yes, Simpson got his typical game check for the week but apparently a roster bonus tied to games he is in uniform for cost him $60,000.

Simpson sat out on Sunday with a back issue that affected his leg. He had declared himself 100 percent healthy and ready to roll last week.

That makes you mad,” Simpson said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “It’s nothing personal against (Frazier). He’s just doing what’s best for the team.’

“You lose $60,000 you’d be mad, too. I’m just a competitor, man. I just want to be out there on the field. Any time something is getting taken away from you, obviously you’re going to be upset about it. Just like if you couldn’t write any more. I’m pretty sure you’d be upset. But we just talked about it and we’re on the same page.”

Does that make Simpson more fired up to contribute this week? That’s our guess because he went third person.

“I’m fired up regardless of the situation. I try to take the same approach every week. I’m a play maker,” he said. “So I’m going to make big plays. I’m just going to go out there, be Jerome Simpson, make plays.’’
