Jerry Hughes fined $22,050 for abusive language to official
Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes was fined $22,050 by the league office for abusive language tward an official.
Hughes acknowledging telling officials they missed a holding call against the Miami Dolphins.
"I did yell because I did get held on that play," Hughes said. "I made sure I yelled, ‘Holding.’ Whatever else came after that, I really don’t know. I don’t know. I’ve never really seen a holding call missed at the point of attack like that. So I really don’t know. I’m at a loss for words right now.”
Hughes was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct with the same crew led by referee Walt Coleman earlier this season against the New England Patriots.
“It’s the same crew from New England, from when we played New England, so it just doesn’t surprise me,” Hughes said.
