Jerry Jones meets with Jay Ratliff following DUI arrest
Less than two months after teammate Jerry Brown killed in what police have said was a drunken wreck caused by teammate Josh Brent, Jay Ratliff was busted for drunken driving.
It doesn’t sit well with the Dallas Cowboys and Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that owner Jerry Jones returned from the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., to the team’s facility to meet with Ratliff.
Ratliff was arrested early Tuesday morning after crashing his Ford truck into an 18-wheeler in Grapevine, Texas. No one was injured. According to the probable cause affidavit, Ratliff failed three field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer.
Injuries married Ratliff’s 2012 season and some wondered if he would have a future with the club. Watkins reports Ratliff’s value to the Cowboys could be enhanced by the decision to switch to a 3-4.
