Jets agree with Rex Ryan for multi-year extension

The New York Jets continue to seem comfortable with Rex Ryan as their head coach.

On Thursday, Ryan agreed to a multi-year extension to remain the Jets' head coach, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. His previous contract was set to expire after the 2014 season.

Ryan took the Jets to AFC Championships in 2009 and 2010 but hasn't been to the playoffs since. His team finished 2013 with an 8-8 record, which was seen as overachieving based on the personnel on the Jets' roster.
