Jets' Ellis won't face suspension
New York Jets defensive tackle Kendrick Ellis won't receive any suspension from the NFL as a result of a misdemeanor assault and battery conviction earlier this year, says the New York Daily News.
Ellis, a third-round pick in 2011, served part of his sentence this summer and reports next March after the upcoming season is over, to complete the term.
The incident occurred at Hampton University in 2010, and Ellis, who is not a U.S. citizen originally faced a felony charge and potential deportation before a plea agreement was reached.
