Jets expected to pursue guard Jon Asamoah

The New York Jets are expected to pursue Kansas City Chiefs free agent offensive guard Jon Asamoah, according to the New York Daily News.

The Jets' offensive line could use a boost.

And free agent guard Willie Colon could leave via free agency.

Asamoah, 25, is an acocomplished pass blocker who started nine games last season.

He's a former third-round draft pick from Illinois who started 31 games in 2011 and 2012.

He lost his starting job to Geoff Schwartz in November.

Asamoah could be expensive.
