Jets kicker Kyle Brindza tears Achilles

New York Jets kicker Kyle Brindza tore his Achilles working out. A former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker released after missing six field goals and two extra points in the first four games, Brindza posted a photo on Instagram post-surgery. “As cliche as it sounds, …. a minor set back for a major come back,” Brindza wrote. “I have worked my tail off to get another shot and I got it, but now I have to take a step back. I ruptured my Achilles completely during my kicking workout. I’m not mad. I’m not upset. Unfortunate? Yes. I know God has a plan and I have to trust it.” Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
