Jets' Mangold holding out hope
New York Jets center Eric Mangold is hopeful that he can play on Sunday, despite being in a walking boot and time running out on him to even make the trip.
Mangold suffered a high ankle sprain in the Jets' win over Jacksonville Sunday and if he is unable to play, will not even make the cross-country trip to Oakland with his teammates.
"I'm a competitor. I want to be out there, so I'm holding out until the last possible moment," Mangold told the New York Daily News.
However, Coach Rex Ryan said, "I don't see it happening," regarding Mangold's availability. That means that Colin Baxter is more likely to get the start.
