Cardinals signing Chris Johnson to one-year deal

The Arizona Cardinals are signing running back Chris Johnson to a one-year contract. The New York Jets declined to pick up his $500,000 option bonus Saturday. Signed to a two-year, $8 million contract last year, Johnson rushed for a career-low 663 yards and caught just 24 passes last season. This marked the first time Johnson had failed to rush for 1,000 yards. Johnson had just four runs of 20 yards or more as he split time with Chris Ivory in the backfield. He was shot in the shoulder in a drive-by shooting, but is healthy now. Follow me on Twitter: Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
