Jets shift into desperation 'playoff' mode

The New York Jets' playoff hopes are on life support with six games still to play after Thursday night's 17-13 loss to Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

The Jets are 5-5, same as the Broncos now, but potentially in a much different situation, given that they are now a game-and-a-half behind the New England Patriots and have lost the season series to their rival already.

Coach Rex Ryan admitted as much after the game Thursday night.

“This one stings. …. Our playoffs start next week. We have to figure out a way to beat Buffalo,” Ryan said after the stunning loss to the Broncos.
