Jets signing James Carpenter to four-year, $20 million deal

The New York Jets are signing former Seattle Seahawks offensive guard James Carpenter to a four-year, $20 million contract, a league source confirmed. Carpenter has had health issues, but is a strong run blocker. He replaces Willie Colon as the starter. Carpenter joins former Seahawks offensive tackle Breno Giacomini with the Jets. Carpenter is a former first-round draft pick from Alabama. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
