Jets sticking with Sanchez
This should tell you all you need to know about Rex Ryan's decision to keep Mark Sanchez as the New York Jets starter after an embarrassing 49-19 loss Thanksgiving night to the rival New England Patriots.
The headline mechanism on this site has a memory prompt in it, so when I wrote "Jets sticking with Sanchez" in the block for this story, the prompt already put it there without me having to type it, because it was embedded in the program's memory from having so many similar headlines written before.
Virtually all season long, Ryan has been asked about staying with Sanchez as his starter, and each time, Ryan has answered in the affirmative regarding going with Sanchez over Tim Tebow.
That decision may be a little easier since Tebow has two fractured ribs now, but nonetheless, it doesn't exactly bode well for Sanchez's play that the question continues to come up after every Jets loss.
And it is getting harder and harder to defend that decision, especially when Sanchez pulled off bonehead plays like the Thanksgiving night play in which he fumbled after running into guard Brandon Moore's butt.
“Mark will be the starting quarterback next week and we’ll go from there,” Ryan told the New York Post. “You can’t blame it on just one individual. I think Mark does give us the best chance to win right now.”
If Ryan truly believes that, then perhaps it is time for the Jets to boot Tebow at season's end and start looking in the draft for someone to supplant Sanchez.
