Jets' Wilkerson escapes crash with minor injuries
New York Jets defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson escaped a Saturday morning car crash with only minor injuries, according to ESPN.com.
Wilkerson, a first-round pick last year, was taken to a New Jersey hospital after his 2011 Dodge Challenger struck a Toyota Siena on the Garden State Parkway. Police responded after being notified at 4:29 a.m.
Wilkerson's car overturned and struck the other vehicle, but injuries were not severe for Wilkerson or the passengers in the other vehicle. The police report did not indicate that Wilkerson was under the influence of alcohol. Wilkerson was charged with careless driving and failure to maintain his lane.
