Jim Schwartz doesn't talk about his contract
Jim Schwartz, who has helped revive a Detroit Lions franchise that was at the bottom of the NFL for the better part of a decade, is preparing to enter the final year of his contract.
Speculation has been the Lions will extend the contract of Schwartz as a reward for his work and to ensure continuity for a club that made the playoffs last year for the first time in 12 seasons. But Schwartz himself is saying next to nothing about the situation.
According to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press, Schwartz declined to offer a reason why an extension has not been announced.
“I don't talk about my contract, that's why,” Schwartz said.
Per the report, Schwartz was then asked if his contract was completed and he repeated, “I don't talk about my contract.”
So, Schwartz is mum but a lot of people in Detroit will be making noise about it if he doesn’t get extended before the season begins. You can bet on that.
