Jimmy Haslam says Josh Gordon hasn't accepted responsibility
Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was critical of wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Gordon is suspended for the entire season for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy. He tested positive for alcohol.
“We have the responsibility to get the most out of our players and take care of them. He’s failed to accept responsibility,” Haslam told reporters. “At a certain point in time, an individual’s got to do what’s right. We hope he can get his life together.”
Browns general manager Ray Farmer had a similar take.
“Throughout his career we have tried to assist him in getting support like we would with any member of our organization,” Farmer said in a statement. “Unfortunately our efforts have not resonated with him.”
