Jimmy Smith out for the season with foot injury

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith will miss the remainder of the 2014 season after having surgery on his injured foot, the organization announced on Thursday.

Smith was injured early two weeks ago against Cincinnati and had to be carted off of the field. It was determined to be a bad foot sprain, but not a Lisfranc injury. However, the sprain was severe enough to the point where he's unable to go the remainder of the year.

Smith finishes his season with 28 combined tackles and one interception.

With Smith sidelined, Lardarius Webb and recently-acquired cornerback Danny Gorrer will be the top two starters. Asa Jackson will also factor into the mix once he's back from the injured reserve-designated to return list.
