Joe Horn will sign with Saints, retire from NFL

Joe Horn might have shredded Sean Payton when he was headed out of New Orleans after a seven-year run with the franchise ended after the 2006 season.

Horn said that New Orleans wasn’t big enough for himself and Sean Payton. But Horn was rooting his former team on during its Super Bowl run last season and now, it appears, New Orleans is big enough for both men.

Horn will sign a one-day contract with the team and retire from the NFL as a member of the Saints, the team announced. It’s a fitting end for a guy who really was the team for quite a run after New Orleans plucked him out of Kansas City in 2000.
