Johnny Manziel: 'I'm not going to change for anybody'

Hard-partying Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel made it abundantly clear today: The partying isn't going to stop.

Manziel has been photographed spraying champagne, posing with a "money phone," drinking out of a bottle of bubbly while laying on an inflatable swan and living it up in Las Vegas with New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski while surrounded by bikini-clad girls in recent weeks.

It's all been harmless fun so far, and the former Heisman Trophy winner doesn't think he's behaving badly.

"I don't think I'm doing anything wrong," Manziel said via the Cleveland Plain Dealer today at the NFL rookie symposium. "I'm not going to change for anybody. I'm going to enjoy my time off.''

As for the money phone video, Manziel replied: ''I'm not going to address something that's in the past.''

Manziel noted that his teammates are "tired of the hype" and weary of being asked about what he's doing off the field.

"I'm low man on the totem pole,'' Manziel said.

Manziel said his partying ways are not being considered in the perspective of how he spends his time most of the week.

In other words, his weekends belong to him.

Manziel has drawn criticism from former NFL players, including Emmitt Smith and Warren Moon, who have stressed that his lifestyle isn't a sustainable one for an NFL star. Time will tell on that one.
