Jon Baldwin makes 49ers' squad, Seneca Wallace doesn't

The San Francisco 49ers got down to the NFL roster limit of 53 players as newly-acquired wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin made the roster and quarterback Seneca Wallace didn't.

Wallace was no surprise considering he felt like he was exploited by the 49ers with his presence intended, in his opinion, to get backup quarterback Colt McCoy to accept a paycut.

Veteran long snapper Brian Jennings, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, was released, replaced by rookie Kevin McDermott.

The 49ers kept three quarterbacks, including rookie B.J. Daniels, a seventh-round pick.

The 49ers also cut offensive tackle Carter Bykowski, wide receiver Austin Collie, cornerback Marcus Cooper, tight end MarQueis Gray, wide receiver Chad Hall, running back Jewel Hampton, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, linebacker Joe Holland, wide receiver Chuck Jacobs, linebacker Travis Johnson, cornerback Darryl Morris, offensive guard Patrick Omameh, wide receiver Kassim Osgood, nose guard Mike Purcell, safety Trenton Robinson, fullback Jason Schepler, safety Michael Thomas, offensive guard Wayne Tribue, offensive tackle Kenny Wiggins.
