Jonas Gray runs for four TDs in Pats win
The New England Patriots rode running back Jonas Gray to a 42-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts Sunday night.
Prior to Week 10's bye, the Patriots had been airing the ball out and not relying much on the passing game. That changed Sunday, with New England opting to establish a running game. Gray answered the call and carried the ball 38 times for 199 yards and four touchdowns.
Gray's story is unique. On the team's practice squad, Gray got the call to the 53-man roster when Stevan Ridley tore his ACL and MCL. But instead of going with Brandon Bolden or James White, Gray elevated past both runners to become New England's top between-the-tackles runner.
Gray put himself on the NFL map as a running back to reckon with Sunday night. Defenses now have to plan for much more than just the Patriots' passing game now.
