Jones-Drew says his foot is pain-free
After missing most of the 2012 season with a foot injury, running back Maurice Jones-Drew pronounced himself healthy and ready to go as the Jacksonville Jaguars' preseason opener looms.
“This is a different injury,” Jones-Drew told the team's website. “There’s no pain in my foot. I’m cutting great. There’s no swelling. It’s back to normal again. I just want to continue on that path.
“The main thing with injury is taking the proper rest, and understanding what the doctor wants you to do – and that is rest. The first three months is rest. After that, you can work your way back into it. It’s going to take some time, but you have to be patient.”
A healthy Jones-Drew is one less thing for the Jags to worry about in 2013 after a dismal year last year that found them tied with Kansas City for the worst record in the league at 2-14.
