Josh Freeman might be demoted to third-string after saying he wants to be traded

There may be consequences for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman's interview with ESPN where he said he wanted to be traded.

The team is now considering demoting Freeman to third-string and having him be inactive against the Arizona Cardinals, according the Tampa Bay Times, since the interview wasn't authorized.

Freeman was benched by the team Wednesday, replaced by rookie Mike Glennon.

Freeman declined to talk to local reporters for the past two days.

Why go with ESPN?

“Josh just needed his voice to be heard,’’ agent Erik Burkhardt told the Times.

Now the organization is apparently making its voice heard with Dan Orlovsky the potential backup Sunday.
